About Kathleen

When I was young, I wanted to be a construction worker (the hats are too cool).  A big-city native, I’m a journalist in small-town Emporia, Kansas. Big loss for the construction industry, I know.

Here, cars are unnecessary. Cows occasionally crowd country highways. Republicans are in the majority. I’m here to document every step as an outsider looking in on small-town life.
